HONOLULU: Hawaii’s largest and oldest ceramic tile company faces court after lawsuit
HONO, Hawaii (AP) A Hawaii ceramic tile maker says a federal court has granted a temporary restraining order against the company and is seeking to have the case dismissed.
The court is reviewing a petition filed by Hawaii ceramic manufacturer L.L. Bean and filed Thursday by the Hawaiian attorney general.
The attorney general’s office says the company has been ordered to stop manufacturing ceramic tiles, which are made from ceramic found in ceramic tiles that were mined by Hawaii in the 1800s.
The company says the court filing comes after the company says it has received numerous requests from state officials to halt the production of ceramic tiles and the state is seeking a temporary injunction that would prevent the company from continuing production of the tiles.
