How much does a tile cost?
Reuters/Ipsos polls in the US show that Americans are not only paying more for their tiles, but also that they are paying more than twice the amount for the same tiles.
A recent report by Consumer Reports found that Americans spent an average of $13.50 per square foot on their tile backs in 2016, while American tile sales were up about 13% in the same period.
“The biggest problem with tile back issues is that it is extremely hard to keep it in good condition, especially if it has been sitting for a while,” Consumer Reports CEO and co-founder, Carol Swain, said in a statement.
“This is especially true for the newer types of tile that use a special clay formulation, which makes it much harder to maintain.”
While the problem with tiles can be addressed with the proper care, there are still a lot of potential problems with them.
In addition to poor care, poor care can also lead to mold, peeling, and cracking of the tiles, which can damage the interior of your home.
