President Donald Trump and GOP lawmakers agreed on a $1.4 billion plan Thursday to rebuild the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.

Trump called the plan the “most significant” in a year in which he has promised to spend $1 trillion to rebuild roads, bridges and other infrastructure.

In the Senate, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said the plan would help to stabilize the economy, while Rep. Kevin Brady (R, Texas) called it “the biggest, most ambitious plan in our nation’s history.”

It’s a big plan, and it’s got big bipartisan support, but it’s also big time, said Sen. Tom Coburn (R., Okla.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee.

“The big question is how much does it really help?” he said.

“I don’t know if this is a good plan, but I do know it’s a good thing.”

Brady and Cornyn are both up for reelection in 2018.

On Thursday, Trump signed a bill that will give him $1,000 tax credits for rebuilding highways and bridges.

The bill also includes a provision to create an independent panel to review highway projects and to provide $1 million to help the Department of Transportation develop new ways to speed up construction.

It was signed into law by Trump in the midst of a crisis over the deadly wildfires that swept through the Southeast.

The fires forced more than 500,000 people to flee their homes and destroyed hundreds of millions of dollars in property.

Trump promised during his presidential campaign that rebuilding would help rebuild America, and Republicans have vowed to work with him on the issue.

The House and Senate approved the measure Thursday afternoon.

The Senate passed the bill by a vote of 97-0 and the House by a voice vote of 95-3.

The legislation would also provide $2 billion for public works projects.

In a statement, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) said that “this bipartisan plan is the most significant in a decade in which President Trump has promised a $5 trillion infrastructure plan, to rebuild our roads, our bridges, our airports, our ports, our rail, our water and the electrical grid.”

The bill will also create a Federal Transit Administration task force to examine how to improve transit systems, which are largely in the hands of state governments.
